Aline Kutan
Born in Turkey, Aline Kutan moved to Canada at the age of 10. Now residing in Vancouver, she made her debut at 18 in Benjamin Britten’s opera The Turn of the Screw at the Vancouver Opera. She studied singing at the University of British Columbia and Laval University in Quebec, under the guidance of Louise André. After graduating, she spent two years on tour with The Phantom of the Opera. Since 1994, she has won numerous prizes and competitions, including:
• The Montreal Symphony Orchestra competition
• The Mozart Competition of the National Ballet Opera Company of Canada
• The Metropolitan Opera competition
• The Toulouse International Singing Competition, where she won the prize for the best interpretation of a French opera excerpt.
