Opus74 Flaine International Music Summer Camp

Introduction

 

Since 2016, Opus 74 has included plastic arts.

 

The association wanted to meet the cultural challenges and offers a new opportunity to the visitors. You can stay either one week or two.

 

But also…

 

Teachers are coming from France, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Serbia, China…

 

 

Flaine – A cultural dimension

Flaine, located at an altitude of 1600 metres, has always been dedicated to art and culture. The architecture was designed by Marcel Breuer, Bauhaus architect. We can find Picasso, Dubuffet and Vasarely sculptures, Piffaretti and Hantaï canvas, or a fountain by Pol Bury. A high quality auditorium has been built to host cultural events, offering exceptional acoustics.

 

 

Opus 74 is located at Flaine, not far from Geneva but in the french Alps. Since many decades, Flaine has been providing classical music festivals and master classes. Opus 74 collaborates with the Region, City Hall and the Centre culturel d'Art (https://www.centredartdeflaine.com/) to open classical music to everyone. In the last two weeks of July, more than ten free concerts will be hold in the Auditorium Boissonas with the partnership of the Office center (https://www.flaine.com/).

 

 

« Opus 74 – Le Grand Incubateur des Arts » has been working to welcome great musicians from all over the world : Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, United States, Russia, China… Famous personalities of classical music such as Andreï Diev, Xia-Fu Zhou, Stefano Gervasoni, Jérôme Granjon, Renato Francesconi or Alexander Frey have performed there.

You will be able to ask for a SUMMER PASS. With the SUMMER PASS, you will have access to 16 activities offered by the tourist office. The list of these activities will be sent to you 1 month before the course start.

 

The tourist office will inform you about all the things you need to know during your stay. But still, you can already book these activities :

 

Hiking

Artistic guided tour (with a visit of the cultural centre)

Golf

Swimming pool and spa

Tennis …

Flaine has always been supported the artistic development. « Opus 74 – L’académie des Arts » wants to be a part of this tradition.

You can choose aside the typical courses, some new opportunities : muiscology, Spanish music, Chamber music, Alexander technic and choral. Your wishes will become truth !

How to come

BY TRAIN

The closest train station is Cluses. After that, a shuttle will drive you from Cluses to Flaine (45 minutes) : Shuttle prices : 11€ (one-way)

BY PLANE

The closest airport is Genève. Then, from Genève airport :

Taxis from Genève to Flaine (180€)

Trains from Genève to Cluses (between 17€ and 30€)

BY CAR

Once you arrived to Flaine, be careful to the parking!

Free parking is available at the entrance to each level of the resort.

At the moment of your arrival or departure, you will be able to drive for free inside the station to load or unload your vehicle for a period of 1h30. Beyond that, the rate is €9 per hour!
