Opus Artis Paris International Woodwind Competition 2025 (Preliminary Round)
RULES
Article 1. The Opus Artis Paris International Woodwind Competition is open to contestants from different countries and regions around the world.
The competition has two rounds, the preliminary round and the finals round, all the contestants should compete by submitting video for the preliminary round.
The Opus Artis Paris International Woodwind Competition will award certificates, along with judges' comments, to the winners of the preliminary round. According to the results of the preliminary round, the judges will select outstanding contestants to the finals round. The finals round will take place in Flaine, France on 26th-27th July, 2025.
Article 2. Competition Group:
Group I 7-9 years old
Group II 10-12 years old
Group III 13-15 years old
Group IV 16-18 years old
Group V 19-26 years old
Group VI over 26 years old
Article 3. Repertoire
The following are the requirements for the competition repertoire. Contestants must perform all pieces from memory. Free choice selection should be taken from the standard solo classical repertoire (as example no pop or jazz). The total performance length must not exceed the time limit for each category.
Group I within 6 mins
Group II within 8 mins
Group III within 10 mins
Group IV within 15 mins
Group V within 20 mins
Group VI within 30 mins
Article 4. Registration Fee
Group I 55 euros
Group II 60 euros
Group III 65 euros
Group IV 70 euros
Group V 75 euros
Group VI 80 euros
Article 5. Prize settings
The Opus Artis Paris International Woodwind Competition adopts two rounds competition. The preliminary round prize settings as below:
The grand prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 90/100points;
The first prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 85/100 points;
The second prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 80/100 points;
The third prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 75/100 points;
The honorable mention will be awarded to contestants with at least 70/100 points.
*The jury has the right to decide on the final outcome of the competition.
*The jury has the right to decide to leave the ranking blank, and contestants shall not object.
*The jury will score the contestants and select the best contestants according to the evaluation criteria of the same category.
Contestants will receive both prize certificate and comments after the preliminary round. The list of the finals round will be announced on April 30th, 2025.
Article 6. Video Requirements
-The dress code for the competition video should be respectful of the audience.
-Please choose a recording studio, a small concert hall or a small indoor venue for the video shooting location.
-The video record is required to be shot on a horizontal screen.
-The videos submitted by the contestants shall not be post-edited in any way, nor shall any effects be added.
Article 7. FAQ
Question: Do I need to participate in the video selection (preliminary round) before attending the finals?
Answer: Yes, all contestants must first go through the online Preliminary Round, and the outstanding candidates selected by the judges will be invited to participate in the finals held in France.
Question: How do I submit my participation video for the First Round?
Answer: Please upload your video to YouTube, copy the video link, and click on 'Application' in the top menu of our website to fill out the application form and submit the video link.
Question: How should I pay the registration fee?
Answer: Please make a payment using PayPal to the account opusartisparis@gmail.com. Please include the competition name, your name, category, and group in the memo, and upload a screenshot of the payment page on our website (click on 'Application' to access).
Question: If I don't have PayPal account, how should I pay?
Answer: Please contact opusartisparis@gmail.com for more payment modes.
